Meet the Owners: James & Alyssa Paine

With his love of animals and a keen interest in medicine, dentistry, and surgery, it makes complete sense that James would become a veterinarian. Pursuant to his dream of having his own Veterinary practice, Dr. James Paine received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, just after receiving his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern New Hampshire. To this day, he continues to further his education in medicine, surgery and behavior.

​Calling Alyssa Klavans Paine an animal lover would be quite an understatement. After receiving her Masters Degree in Conservation Biology from Columbia University, she founded Applebrook Inn in 2003, with the goal of providing a social boarding environment for people's pets that provided both mental and physical stimulation. Currently, Alyssa contributes a great deal of her time to expanding programs at the Pet Resort with a mission of providing the best care possible to all the guests.

DR. LAUREN FLOWER

Dr. Flower grew up in southeastern Connecticut and has an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the UCONN. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and her favorite part of veterinary medicine is fostering the human-animal bond.  Dr. Flower enjoys preventative care, internal medicine, and client education and is so happy to be welcomed as a member of the Applebrook family. She lives in King of Prussia with her husband, and enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time with her horse, and watching movies on the couch with her cat!

Erica joined the Applebrook team in November 2019 and already we do not know what we did without her!  Beside having over 20 years of management experience, she brings her amazing dogs Luna and Malone, as well as her cat Meat-a-pillar, to the family.  Erica brightens everyone's day here, and her passion for getting to know all our patients and clients and improving their lives is a welcome addition here at Applebrook!

DEVON KREIBEL
HOSPITAL MANAGER

Devon joined us in May 2019  after working for a few years at the Montgomery County SPCA. She has a background in zoo and exotic animal care, as well as experience doing research while getting her undergraduate degree in Biology.  She leads our Veterinary support team with passion and energy, endless positivity, and pushes us all to be better.  In her free time Devon loves exploring outdoors, reading, listening to good music, and shares her home with her three dogs Hawk, Izzy, and Sydney.
